The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has announced a planned power outage in Imo on Saturday, Dec. 4 from 9am to 11am.
In a release made available to Newsmen in Owerri, Mr. Emeka Ezeh, EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications said that the outage which will affect the Owerri-Alaoji 132KV line 1 was to enable the technical crew of the Transmission Company of Nigeria attend to a line fault on one of the towers.
Ezeh said that as an additional apparatus for the safety of the engineers, the Owerri-Alaoji 132KV line 2 would also be interrupted during the exercise.
According to the release, “The outage will affect supply to Egbu Transmission Station and all the 33KV feeders, namely Mbaise, Okigwe, Alex, Airport, Owerri, Orlu, New Oguta, and Oguta, feeding Owerri and New Owerri districts.
“Consequently, our customers in Imo (except parts of Orlu and Mbaise that receive supply from Anambra and Umuahia respectively) will be out of electricity supply during the period of the maintenance.
“We regret the inconveniences this will cause our esteemed customers and assure them that supply will be restored as soon as the TCN team completes the maintenance,” he said.
