Teachers in France have begun a strike protest which could result in the closure of half the population of schools in the country.
The teachers who are protesting against the French government’s manner of handling the covid crisis expressed that the rules set in place are confusing s they are constantly changed.
Many primary schools in the country will be closed starting today, Thursday, January 13, 2022, as unions expect about 75% of teachers to go on strike.
It is believed that the strike, which is carried out in every part of the country, could be the biggest in decades.
“The exhaustion and exasperation of the entire educational community have reached an unprecedented level,’’ the 11 unions representing teachers in the country said in a statement.
According to them, the government and the education minister, Jean-Michel Blanquer, were to blame for what they called a “chaotic situation” in schools.
