Three judges had upheld the decision of the Australian government to cancel his visa following his ‘un-vaccinated’ status.

The world N0.1 who disclosed he was “extremely disappointed” but accepted the ruling, left the shores of Australia on a flight to Dubai on Sunday, January 16, 2022.

The ruling from the court brings to an end, a 10- day tussle wherein Djokovic fought to stay to defend his title in the Australian Open.

Lauding the outcome, Australian Prime Minister, Scott Morrison, welcomed it as a good decision ‘’to keep our borders strong and keep Australians safe”.

Recall Australian Minister of Immigration, Alex Hawke, cancelled the player’s visa on the grounds that Djokovic’s presence in the country could stir up anti-Covid-19 views and protests.
