Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde has promised an upward review of subvention for the Shooting stars Sports Club 3SC and the commitment of his administration to the proper management of the club for efficient results.
The Governor said this during the presentation and unveiling of their new players recently signed into the club also appointed the current team manager Dimeji Lawal as acting general manager.
Governor Makinde explained that the upward review of subvention would take effect from February, noting that he would soon facilitate the process of ensuring the club was placed under the purview of the Governor’s office for direct and proper management
Makinde also noted that though the club is currently in the 16th position on Nigeria Professional Football League NPFL log table, the Governor said he would expect the team to work towards ranking 1st, adding that the team should equally strive to play at the continental level next year and not disappoint the state and its fans. Earlier, the team manager Dimeji Lawal applauded the Governor’s effort and concern for the club as well sport sort development in the state, acknowledging that securing the continental ticket was not impossible.
