The Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has unveiled new sets of jerseys to be used by the Heartland FC, for their campaign in the new Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) Season.
This took place in a brief ceremony held at the Douglas house, on Thursday, December 16, 2021.
Deputy Speaker of the state house of assembly, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, who introduced the Heartland contingent to the governor which was comprised of the Acting General Manager Promise Nwachukwu; Technical Adviser, Hassan Abdallah; and Media Director, Solomon Onu, commended Coach Abdallah for restoring discipline and sanity to the team while urging him to do more to help return the football club to it’s glorious winning ways.
In his reaction, Coach Abdallah expressed appreciation to the Governor for his support and promised that the visit will motivate his boys to give more than 100 percent.
Making the unveiling, Gov. Hope expressed satisfaction with the quality, and thanked the contingent for the honour.
“The jersey is beautiful and has quality too. Thanks for the honour to unveil the new Jersey.”
“Heartland is our pride, and as a Government, we will continue to support our team,” he enthused.
He also commended the club’s supervisors, Rt Hon Amara Iwuanyanwu (Deputy Speaker) and Hon Dan Ogu (Commisioner of Youth and Sports)alongside the Chief Whip Hon Chigozie Nwaneri.
“I am happy with your leadership and how you are steering the ship and hopefully this season will be totally different”
On Heartland’s first game this weekend, the Governor urged the team to go all out and give Imolites the victory they deserve.
“I understand you have a game this weekend, the Commisioner will be back for us to settle everything and i believe you will win to give Imo people the victory they deserve”, he assured.
