The Imo State Government has issued a 24-hour ultimatum to motorists loading at Government House/Okigwe, Warehouse/Orlu roads, to vacate the area.

Special Adviser/General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Francis Chukwu issued a vacation notice to the motorists after taking a tour of illegal motor parks in Owerri Metropolis with the state Commissioner for Transport, Rex Anunobi.

He said the closure of the illegal parks in the capital city has become imperative considering the need to ensure total sanity that conforms to the urban and urbanization programme of the 3R administration of Gov. Hope Uzodinma.

The notice signed by his media aide, Iheanyi Enwerem, partly reads, “Motorists loading at Government House/Okigwe road were directed by State Government to relocate to a location at Amawire Orji, those operating at Warehouse/Orlu road will relocate at Egbeada market.

“Motorist loading at Control post will relocate to an open space at hospital junction Owerri-Port Harcourt road.”

The OCDA boss had recently embarked on a sensitization campaign tagged “Operation Remove Illegal Parks, Shanties” in Owerri capital city, last year December 2021.
