SWITZERLAND SUPPORTS NIGERIA’s BID FOR I.M.O CATEGORY C SEAT

Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy announced that Nigeria has received a letter of support from Switzerland for its bid for the Category ‘C’ seat on the International Maritime Organisation for the 2026/2027 elections.

So far, Minister Adegboyega Oyetola has welcomed the endorsement, highlighting Nigeria’s maritime potential and ongoing efforts to develop the sector through policies, public-private partnerships, and safety initiatives like the Deep Blue project.

Also, Swiss Ambassador Patrick Felix Egloff has expressed Switzerland’s strong support, emphasizing Nigeria’s importance and commitment to multilateralism.
